PROJECT PLANNING:  When you are ready for a steel building, what’s next? Here are some suggested steps to help you to create your steel building.

BUILDING CODES:  Review steel building standards available from your local code authority. Most county and city governments have codes controlling construction in their areas. Some neighborhood associations have recommendations concerning steel structures.

DESIGNING YOUR BUILDING:  During the design process, your Steel Depot representative will gather useful specifications about the building’s purposes and desired amenities. His work will help you in the selection of the required add-ons to complete the design of your steel building. Your Steel Depot representative will explain the criteria you will need to know about designing your building correctly. Design your building using the EASY BUILDING DESIGNER. Once you have your design complete, send it in for a quote for your custom building. Our experts will work with you to get it completed.

ENGINEERING THE PROJECT:  Because every steel building differs, each one needs to be designed according to its loads, size, location, codes, and use. Your Steel Depot representative will discuss the various criteria that are important to the engineering process.

ORDER PROCESS:  Once all the building requirements are understood, your Steel Depot representative will provide you with a sales agreement.

SELECTING A CONTRACTOR:  It’s a good idea to choose your contractor a couple of months before your building materials are scheduled to arrive. Planning ahead gives your contractor time to prepare for the project and helps ensure construction can begin as soon as your materials are delivered.

DELIVERY OF YOUR METAL BUILDING:  After purchasing your steel building, the next step is to prepare the site for delivery of the building materials. Your contractor will be your best resource and guide throughout this stage, helping ensure the site is properly prepared for a smooth and efficient installation.

RECEIPT OF YOUR BUILDING:  It is your responsibility to verify all required materials are received upon the delivery of your steel building. Your verification will upon delivery will prevent any problems, like shortages or broken materials, from slowing down your building’s construction.

ERECTING YOUR METAL BUILDING:  After you receive your building, the construction process can start!
